CSO Job Duties

Duties:

Squad Maintenance

Monthly vehicle mileage (all police dept. vehicles, spreadsheet)

      Keeping track of problems with squad cars (white board in patrol office)
      Letting City Shop know what needs to be fixed (City Shop tells you when to bring it down)
      New squad equipment checklist
      Patrolling high school, junior high school, ALC, elementary schools, Recovery School (St. John Church)
      Junk vehicle complaints
      Investigate
      Written warning
      Citation after ten (10) days (pictures and written report)
      RV Complaints
      Parking Complaints (48 hr., etc.)

    Animal Control Duties, including:

          Responding to domesticated animal complaints

          Enforcing animal related city ordinances

          Investigation and follow-up of animal related ordinance violations

          Impounding domesticated animals

          Care and Maintenance of impounded animals

          Care and Maintenance of animal control shelter

          Dispose of unclaimed animals in a humane and acceptable manner

          Releasing impounded animals

          Generate monthly animal control related reports to the Chief of Police and the City Council

          Any other domesticated animal related duty as assigned

    Deliver paperwork to county attorney, city attorney, court administration

        Park Patrol
        House Checks
        Found Property (bikes, etc.)
        Miscellaneous Calls
        Minor Accident Reports
        Minor Theft Reports
        Minor Vandalism Reports
        Towing Vehicles
        Traffic Control
        Watching Detainees for officers (juvenile and adult)
        Public Presentations (squad car show and tell, bike rodeos, safety camp, etc.)
        Deliver City Council Agenda Packets
        Transports (with an officer)
        Release Property
        Miscellaneous assignments by Chief, Captain, and Sergeants
        Radar Trailer Placement
        Reporting
        Pickup and Delivery
        Supply companies
        Evidence to and from BCA
        Portable radio repair (to/from radio service)
        Uniform pickup if needed in Metro area
        Respond to minor medical emergencies
        Tow Releases

      Downtown foot patrol

          Funeral escorts
          Training as provided
          LIDAR, defensive tactics, SafeAssure, etc.
          Parades
          Check and document written warnings on a monthly basis
          Assist with meetings, etc., as necessary

        Other Duties as assigned
