2012 Steele County Safety Camp

Steele County will be having a two-day “Kids Safety Camp” on June 14th and June 15th, 2012. The camp is held at the Lake Kohlmier boat landing and the Steele County Fairgrounds. Camp runs from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM each day. This two-day event is for kids entering the 4th grade in the fall of 2012. Along with fun and games, the kids will learn about fishing safety, boat/canoe safety, camping/hiking safety, bike safety, firearms safety, 1st aid, electrical safety, fire safety, outdoor equipment safety, and much, much more. An ice cream social will be held at 4:00 PM on June 15th at the close of the events.
Registration will begin on Monday, May 7th at the Owatonna Fire Department, 107 W Main Street, and will continue through May 18th. The hours for registration are 8 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. There will be a limit of 175 kids for this camp, so register early to guarantee your spot! Please fill out the registration form and bring it to the Owatonna Fire Department during business hours. There is a $20 registration fee that will help cover the cost of lunches, snacks, beverages and safety items each child will receive during the 2 days. In addition, each child will receive a camp T shirt, a certificate of completion and a team picture. Checks may be made payable to: Steele County Safety Camp. A daily schedule and other camp information will be given out at registration.
