Outdoor Public Skating - Now Open!
*The river is not open yet but we have one in-line rink, the bass pond and the south pond open for skating.
Warsinski rinks, located in Morehouse Park are the only supervised skating rinks in Owatonna. The Warsinski chalet, a large warming house complete with cross country ski and skate rentals and food concessions is located at the west end of School Street.
Open: Sundays: 12:00 noon – 9:30 p.m.
Saturdays, Holidays & School Vacation Days: 11:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Monday – Friday: 3:00-9:00 p.m.
Schedule is subject to change due to weather and ice conditions. Family bonfire events are held Saturday evenings at 5:30 p.m.
Skate Rentals—$6 for 2 hours, Cross Country Ski Rentals—10 years of age and under: $10, Adults: $15 (per day)
Twins Caravan, January 26th at Plaza Morena, 12:15pm - The Twins Winter Caravan is one of the longest running and most extensive offseason team caravans in professional sports. Come and meet Trevor May, Taylor Rogers and Kris Atteberry. Click here for more information.

Friday, January 27:
Sledding and Movie at West Hills: 1:00 – Sledding on the Hill, 2:00/2:15 – Games and Crafts in SeniorPlace Building, 2:45/3 – Movie at SeniorPlace (movie to be announced). FREE hot chocolate while you watch the movie. Some concessions will be available for purchase. All kids 7 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Click here for flyer.
Saturday, January 28:
Fat Tire Bike Demo: 10:00am - 2:00pm at Kaplan's Woods. Straight River Sports is giving you the chance to try biking in the snow! FREE event!
Polar Plunge: 11:00am - 2:00pm at Lake Kohlmier. This frosty fundraiser for Minnesota Special Olympics brings profits in to fund its programs for athletes around the state. Concessions will be available to warm up the crowd and raise funds for Therapeutic Recreation.
Adult Ice Bocce Ball Tournament: 2:00 - 5:00pm at Lake Kohlmier. A fun afternoon of Bocce Ball, Hammerschlagen, and pizza! Bring your own beverage! (must be 18 years or older to attend this event). Click here for flyer and team registration details.
Rock on Ice & Bonfire: 5:00 - 7:00pm at Morehouse. Bring the family down for ice skating and our 1st Rock on Ice DJ party! Warm up by the bonfire and enjoy free smores! Click here for flyer.
Sunday, January 29:
Family Ice Fishing at Lake Kohlmier: 2:30 – 4:30pm, join us on Lake Kohlmier for an afternoon of ice fishing. Some equipment and bait will be provided and holes will be drilled for fishing. Come and learn a few new techniques at the educational stations, there will be giveaways for kids that visit each station. Prizes for kids 15 & Under who catch the top 3 longest fish. Pavilion Rentals are available one year in advance. Call the Parks and Recreation office at 444-4321 or stop by our office to make a reservation. Payment is due at the time of the reservation.
