Greetings from the Owatonna Parks and Recreation Department

As I write this letter our department is heavily engaged in summer programs and activities, but we are also thinking ahead to department opportunities and activities for the fall and winter season.  You will find information covering parks and the amenities within them, youth and adult recreation programs, River Springs Water Park information, Brooktree Golf Course information, SeniorPlace activities and services and Tennis and Fitness Center activities and schedules.  Also you will find administrative information including policies and procedures.

For updated information please go online to our website www.ci.owatonna.mn.us as we continue to expand the information that is listed.  Also, the Owatonna Peoples Press allows our department to have a feature and information section in the variety section. (Again, this is a good source.)  We are also fortunate to have our local radio stations KRFO and KOWZ as sources of information outlets as well.

As all of us try to cope with the tough economic times, I find myself reflecting upon the core values of what our mission is at the Owatonna Parks and Recreation Department.  After 34 years in the Profession, I still get the feeling of satisfaction to see so many citizens using the parks, trails, recreational activities, golf course, SeniorPlace, Skatepark, River Springs Water Park, and the list goes on and on.    The department does significantly add to the quality of life we enjoy here in what we call home….Owatonna
